About the Artist
Originally from Rochester, N.Y., Natalia Tortora started off college as a trumpet music major at Michigan State University, but decided to let music be a hobby and to let the visual arts take ahold of her career. Since being exposed to art at a young age (helping her father, an award-winning lighting designer, and her mother, a multi-skilled creative in theater set/costume design and stage management from Wayne State University), she decided to enroll into MSU's Studio Art program in 2010, where she concentrated in graphic design and photography and received a B.F.A. from Michigan State University in 2013.
Tortora is always implementing visual function with her creations. Her clientele ranges from auto manufacturers to local hospitality businesses, working from rebranding companies using smart marketing strategy, to print design and social media managing. Because of her wide range of experience in various industries, she has the ability to have an understanding of each facet of business and why graphic design, social media presence and product design are such an integral part of that system.
Natalia Tortora is currently an Associate Creative Director at Heirloom Hospitality in Detroit, MI., a growing hospitality group that encompasses Townhouse Detroit, Townhouse Birmingham, Prime + Proper and future entities in the making. She is is also a freelance creative designer for her freelance company, Natalia Tortora Design and has been a member of Creative Co. through the Detroit Creative Corridor Center since March of 2016.
She resides Detroit, Michigan, her ultimate inspiration.
